Within 2 Months* I was at a Healthy Weight

I have always struggled with my weight. While I was never considered “obese”, I struggled with being overweight since puberty. In June 2014 I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome. I was a little over 10 pounds overweight and new that even losing 10 pounds could help.

Everyone was supportive...

As a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, my husband’s insurance allowed me to enter the program only paying for the non-billable (food and an EKG reading) items. From day one, I never felt judged by the team or other patients. Everyone was supportive, and no one ever acted like my struggle wasn’t real simply because I only had a few pounds to lose. I entered the program on the “LCD” plan, drinking 2 shakes a day and eating one meal.

The team was really helpful in answering all my nutrition, exercise, and behavioral questions, and within 2 months* I was at a healthy weight. The environment was so supportive, and I saw so many people receive the help and care they needed, that I later told Becky if there was ever a position available I would love to be part of the team. I wanted to help others get healthy and stay healthy that way.

I'm so grateful to know that I'm always welcome at PCW

A couple months later, I was asked to join the team and now work as the Assistant Business Coordinator. I know that maintaining a healthy relationship with food will always be a struggle for me, but I am so grateful to know that I am always welcome at PCW, patient or otherwise, to receive the encouragement and support I need.”
